Pupil Voice

We are committed to ensuring that our children have a voice and regularly pupil voice sessions are undertaken as part of our whole academy monitoring process.

We discuss with the children all aspects of school life from specific lessons and learning to online safety, anti-bullying and mental health and well-being. Their responses help us to continue to evolve and improve our offer for the children.

Academy Council

We also have an academy council who are elected yearly. We follow a democratic process, with pupils presenting to their peers what actions they would take if they were to be elected. The council meets regularly and takes on projects that differ in length. This adds an extra dimension to our academy and supports the development of pupil leadership.

Welcome to Our School Council!

What is a School Council?

A school council is a group of elected children that represent the views of all the pupils in the school. We meet regularly and have class councillors to feed back to pupils. School council helps ensure all our children have a voice in how the school develops and works for all of us. The School Council will meet half termly to discuss any issues, for example, behaviour, school lunches and play times. They also discuss ideas for fundraising, play equipment, design of school areas and then implement action plans.

What are the aims of The School Council?

To encourage children to be actively involved with the school, for children to share ideas and suggest improvements.

To make sure our school is a safe and happy place for children and to help children and staff collaborate within school
