Academy Artsmark

At Estcourt Primary Academy we endeavour to provide all pupils with the opportunity to experience arts and culture. We are busy preparing for Hull's biggest year!

Our children will have the opportunity to experience live performances and additionally create and evaluate art works in a range of media.

We have all kinds of events pencilled into the Academy calendar this year including carnivals, festivals and drama (involving NAPA). Additionally, in line with our Artsmark Award we will hold an annual Junk Modelling competition in December, whereby 4 Academies from across the Hull cluster will join the Academy and have the opportunity to produce a structure to represent ‘What Hull means to me.’

Throughout this exciting year the Academy Artsmark Council pupils will be involved in the planning and delivery of arts and cultural experiences, such as:

• Choosing visiting artists

• Preparing and organising a live performance

• Putting on an exhibition

• Skills sharing workshops

Creative Briefs 'Chewy Project', the winner

Congratulations to Annie, a student at Estcourt Primary Academy Hull, for creating the winning design for Creative Briefs 'Chewing Gum Gone' project. Here Annie tells us about her winning design, and teacher Mr Ullah explains how important it is that children have real-world experience with creative professionals like Jason at Creative Briefs.

We hope you enjoy the images below of our 2015-16 Digital Art entries. Others obviously liked them, as Tigers won ' Most Innovative Design' and Meerkats won the category which most fitted the brief ' What Does Hull Mean To Me?
